My ambition is to be a furniture maker whose work takes reference from traditional practitioners, and combines this with something personal that results in contemporary pieces that are honest and functional. I am inspired by traditional craft techniques, tools and materials, and look to combine this with fresh inspiration that brings integrity of construction and innovation into a special piece of futniture.

To enhance my work I use other materials to allow a wider palette of colour and texture into designs that have simplicity at their heart and show a fascination for details that draw people in to look closer, such as the use of wooden hinges, laminated curves, traditional joinery and the honesty revealed by the deliberate retention of the marks of the maker.
